Our Production Guarantee

What the Guarantee Covers

Solar X guarantees that your solar system will produce the annual energy output projected in your signed proposal. The projected output is calculated during your custom system design using your location, roof orientation, shading analysis, and system specifications.

If your system produces less than the projected annual output in any 12-month period, Solar X will assess the cause and make it right.

What Triggers It

The guarantee is triggered when:

• Your system's monitored annual production falls below the projected kWh output stated in your proposal
• The shortfall is attributable to equipment performance, installation workmanship, or system design — not external factors outside Solar X's control
• You notify Solar X in writing within 30 days of the end of the 12-month monitoring period

What the Remedy Is

Solar X will:

1. Conduct a full system inspection and production analysis at no cost to you
2. Identify the root cause of the shortfall
3. Where the cause is within Solar X's control, remediate the issue through equipment repair, replacement, or system optimization
4. Where remediation is not technically feasible, issue a credit proportional to the production shortfall

What It Doesn't Cover

The guarantee does not apply where the production shortfall is caused by:

• Abnormal weather events or significantly below-average solar irradiance in your region
• Physical damage to equipment caused by the homeowner, third parties, or acts of God (these are covered under your homeowner's insurance)
• Unauthorized modifications to the system made without Solar X's involvement
• Utility curtailment or grid outages outside Solar X's control
• Obstruction of panels (new construction, tree growth) that was not present at time of installation

Manufacturer Warranties

In addition to Solar X's production guarantee, all equipment carries manufacturer warranties:

• Solar panels: 25–30 year performance warranty, 10–12 year product warranty (Trina, Longi, Canadian Solar, JA Solar)
• Inverters: 10–25 year warranty depending on manufacturer (Enphase, SolarEdge)
• Tesla Powerwall 3: 10-year manufacturer warranty
• Solar X workmanship: 10-year installation workmanship warranty

Transferability

The Solar X production guarantee and workmanship warranty transfer automatically to any new homeowner if you sell your property. This is documented in your installation contract and is a meaningful value-add when listing your home.

How to Make a Claim

Contact our support team in writing at info@solar-x.ca with your installation address, the monitoring period dates, and the production data from your monitoring portal. We will acknowledge your claim within 2 business days and schedule an assessment within 10 business days.
