Save Thousands by Investing in Solar

There are now more ways than ever to secure a successful investment through solar technology. The simplest way to begin your investment is through the Greener Homes rebate. You can save thousands by investing in solar. The government has announced and implemented grants of up to $5,600 to help homeowners make energy-efficient retrofits. Announced in the 2020 Fall Economic Statement, the Greener Homes incentive is available to homeowners going solar retroactive to December 1, 2020. Check out our previous post about the details and qualifications for the Greener Homes rebate here.

Stop paying your electric company.

By going solar, you can finally stop paying your electric company for electricity. Thanks to the net metering program, homeowners are credited for the excess energy their solar panels generate. These credits can be used to offset the cost of any electricity you may have to pull from the grid. As a result, you no longer have to pay for your electricity and could save tens of thousands of dollars on rising electricity costs over the lifetime of your solar system.

Improve the value of your home.

Among all other retrofit options, solar is one lucrative choice because it can increase your property value by a significant amount. According to a study by Berkeley National Labs, a solar installation can increase your property value by 5-10%. In addition, solar panels can also help properties sell more quickly. Many home buyers are becoming more environmentally conscious and are actively seeking greener properties. Sarah Mikhitarian, a Zillow senior economist stated that “There is increased demand for green living. More than 80% of buyers now say energy-efficient features are important in selecting their home.” Solar panels also have an additional passive benefit of extending the lifespan of your shingles. The decrease in UV exposure means that they will not degrade at the same speed as a shingle typically exposed to sunlight. Higher property values and longer-lasting shingles are even more ways going solar continues to be a sought-after investment.

Long-lasting, German-engineered solar panels.

A typical concern with solar is that the equipment will not last past the ROI period, making them an inefficient investment. Our tier 1 solar panels will last you on average 40-50 years which is way beyond the break-even point. Therefore, your solar investment will result in a net gain of thousands of dollars due to the amount of savings year over year by not having to pay for your electricity. At Solar X, our solar panels are German engineered and also come with a 25-year performance warranty.

  1. I live on Northern Vancouver Island in Port McNeill British Columbia. It is considered a town and therefore we have no services to install solar locally.
Unless there is a local installer, how can it be cost effective to have your company come from Toronto?
